AMMAN — The health supervision department with the Greater Amman Municipality discarded 3,360 tonnes of humanely inconsumable foodstuff since the beginning of 2016, with 288 tonnes retained for further inspection.

Municipality statistics indicate 5,448 rounds have been made so far around the various areas of the Capital, with a 13 per cent increase compared to the same period in 2015, and a rise in conservatory lockdowns and violations.

Reports also indicate a decrease in complaints received compared to the quarter from 2015, reflective of the intensified field operation and follow-up.
