SINGAPORE — Oil prices steady out at USD45.02 and USD43.76 for the barrel of Brent and American crude, respectively, after declining consecutively over the past two days amidst fears of a global economic slowdown with Middle East production increased, oversupplying world demand.

Gold, on the other hand, lost 0.4 to 0.7 per cent on the ounce in liquid and accrual transactions, to USD1,281.10 and USD1283.4, respectively, after days in decline.
