“Consumer Protection”: Basic Commodity Price 20-50% Higher, West Amman

AMMAN —Al Ghad— A recent study conducted and published by the National Society for Consumer Protection indicate basic commodity prices in West Amman are 20 to 50 per cent higher than in East Amman.

The study covered 44 commodities, with 42 of them priced higher accordingly, and 2 sold at the same price.

Reasons why, according to the consumer protection society, range from differences in leasing costs to demographical distribution and income.
