Economists on Jordan: Difficult Months Ahead for Citizens

AMMAN —Al Ghad— Specialists, including economist Zayan Zawaneh, Economy Professor with the Yarmouk University, Dr Qasem Hamouri, and head of the The National Society For Consumer Protection, Dr Mohammad Obeidat, anticipate economically difficult times lay ahead for Jordanians, as family expenditures are expected to increase over the holy month of Ramadan and the two holidays, Fiter and Adha, followed by the resumption of schools.

Economists call upon Jordanian families and households to re-prioritise family consumption, as well as upon the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Supply to monitor and control seasonal commodity prices and costs, stating that collaborative efforts must be set in motion to combat excessive consumption trends, as Credit facilitated is expected to shoot over the coming duration as citizens resolve to loans to cover consumption expenses.
