DAMASCUS —Al Ghad— Syrian President Bashar Assad uncovered, in an interview with SBS, an Australian broadcast channel, published partially by news agency “SANA” Thursday, that “although western states have been openly assaulting the Syrian government, most of them are keen on conducting dealings  with Syria, under the table”, in comment on recent western security officials to Damascus.

Most European official resound American instructions, he said, and when asked about Australia’s contradicting position from Syria’, despite announced inclinations, Assad explained it is “the typical duality in standards of western states in general… they attack us politically, and then send their security officials to deal with us covertly… they all do it… they just do not want to annoy the US”.
