Amman: Unprecedented 115 Thousand Tonnes of Trash in Ramadan

AMMAN –Al Ghad— Residents of Amman scored an unprecedented 115 thousand tonnes of trash disposed during the holy month of Ramadan and Eid, 60 per cent of which were organic —foodstuff and drinks, according to statements by the Deputy Director of the Greater Amman Municipality on Environmental and Provincial Affairs, Bassim Tarawneh, to “Al Ghad”, who explained the phenom is related to the predominant patterns of consumption behaviour of citizens in Ramadan, in addition to the increase of visitors and tourisms in the Capital.
