NCHR Report Points to Gov’t Failure to Address Vote Purchase

AMMAN —AlGhad— The National Centre for Human Rights (NCHR) Commissioner, Dr Mousa Breizat, in a press conference at the Centre’s headquarters in Amman, expressed reservations on the so-called ‘credibility’ of the recent parliamentary elections, voicing concerns over the government’s failure to address vote purchasing and ‘black’ money.

On that, the Commissioner confirmed, that the report was inconclusive, due to the lack of monitory information and data, particularly in regards to the events which took place at the Central Badia ballot casting circuit.

The conference was held on the launch of the Centre’s report summary on the 18th Parliamentary Representative House elections, carried out last year, 2016.
