N. Korea Rejects UN Sanctions

AMMAN — North Korea on Wednesday rejected the UN Security Council resolution number 2375, imposing tougher sanctions and said Washington would soon face the "greatest pain" it had ever experienced.

"The adoption of another illegal and evil ‘resolution on sanctions’ piloted by the US served as an occasion for the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) to verify that the road it chose to go down was absolutely right," North Korea’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement released by the official Korean Central News Agency.

It also added "The DPRK will redouble the efforts to increase its strength to safeguard the country's sovereignty and right to existence and to preserve peace and security of the region by establishing the practical equilibrium with the US".
