AMMAN —AlGhad— At least 15 inmates involved in the Suwaqa Prison Riots have been referred to the State Security’s General Attorney’s office according to the Public Security Directorate (PSD) statement today, Monday.
Notwithstanding the charges of organising the riots and vandalism, at least some of the inmates are suspected of planning terrorist attacks inside the prison, the police said.
Meanwhile, the joint legal team who inspected the prison yesterday has launched an investigation into the collusion of police officers, charged with smuggling contraband.
In the meantime, the police statement said that the ongoings of the investigation will be disclosed on a timely basis, to keep the public informed.
Until then, all CSOs and NGOs, as well as official bodies, are allowed to visit the penitentiary to see first-hand the damage caused by the riots.
