AMMAN —AlGhad— An informed source, who spoke to AlGhad in anonymity, expressed their fear of the outcomes and proceedings of the referendum in the Iraqi Kurdistan province, that it will affect the implementation of the Basra-Aqaba oil pipeline project.
In his statement yesterday, Wednesday, the source explained that Mas International, the company which took the tender for the pipeline project, has major other projects in Kurdistan.
Among these projects, Mas has one cement factory construction tender and several renewable energy facilities.
Meanwhile, the central Iraqi government is now looking into funding alternatives to finance the project.
AlGhad tried to get the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources to comment, but the Ministry did not respond.
