AMMAN —AlGhad— Inbound European tourism, according to data by the Ministry of Tourism, has increased by 12 per cent over the nine months since the beginning of the year, compared to the same duration in 2016, from 327.1 thousand tourists to 364.7 thousand in September, 2017.

Meanwhile, inbound tourism from Arab Gulf countries has also increased by 6 per cent, comparatively, for the same durations.

By September 2016, Jordan received 435.2 thousand tourists from the Arab Gulf region, which has increased to nearly 364.5 thousand by September this year, 2017.

Overall, inbound tourism in 2017 has increased by 8.6 per cent so far, from 3.72 million tourists in the first nine months of 2016, to some 4.04 million.

Official sources, including the Ministry, say the increase was somewhat factored by the revival of festivals and founding of adventure tourism.
