AMMAN —AlGhad— The Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) arrested 21 people over the span of the week, from different parts of the Kingdom, on charges ranging from illegal possession of drugs and firearms to trafficking and auto-theft, according to a statement by the Public Security Directorate (PSD) today, Wednesday.
The detainees were picked up by the police, found in possession of drugs, firearms and stolen vehicles, during a series of raids and anti-drug campaigns launched earlier this week.
Arrests were made in the Central and Northern Badia districts, as well as in Zarqa and Mafraq earlier this morning.
Thousands of narcotic pills were confiscated, weed and at least a dozen illegal firearms.
Police confirmed that the detainees will be further investigated before being transferred to the Court of State Security to stand trial.
