Treasury Issues JOD2.77bn Worth of Bonds in 2017

AMMAN —AlGhad— The overall value of treasury bonds and notes issued by the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) in open auction has declined by 52 per cent in 2017, to JOD2.77 billion, compared to JOD4.21 billion in 2016, according to the Finance Ministry’s bulletin.

Public debt has increased by JOD1.2 billion in 2017, compared to the average public debt growth rate of JOD2.2 billion, over the past five years.

The overall value of public debt has grown to JOD27.25 billion in 2017, from JOD26.1 billion in 2016, despite the decline in debt growth rate.
