Occupation Soldiers, Extremists Storm Aqsa Compound

RAMALLAH — A total of 138 Israeli soldiers and extremists stormed Al-Aqsa compound in occupied Jerusalem Wednesday morning, according to the Director General of the Islamic Awqaf and Al-Aqsa Affairs, Sheikh Azzam Khatib.

Khatib told Petra’s reporter in Ramallah that the storming was carried out under heavy protection of Israeli police and soldiers, adding that 78 settlers and 60 other Israeli public employees were among those who stormed the compound.

Intruders of the Muslim’s holy shrine entered through Al-Magharbeh Gate in small and consecutive groups, while a number of extremists attempted to perform silent Talmudic rituals mainly at Al-Rahma Gate area located between Al-Marwani Prayer Hall and Al-sabat Gate in Al-Aqsa compound.
