Jordan Spent JOD42m on Scientific Research in 10 Years

AMMAN — The Scientific Research Support Fund Sunday said it spent around JD42 million on research projects over the last ten years.

The institution's Director General Abeer Bawab told Petra that work is underway to register 4 patents, noting that a total of 300 scientific research were already released in world journals and 10 books were published, in an effort to build national science and research capacity.

The fund, Bawab pointed out, also provides postgraduate high-achieving students with scholarships to create a generation of outstanding young researchers.

She also spoke about challenges encountering the scientific research sector, including the lack of joint postgraduate programs with world-class scientific institutions, noting that the fund would work to improve Jordan's rank in this key sector.
