Red Sea Water Desalination Tender Referred to Bidding — KEMAPCO

AMMAN —Al Ghad—Chairman of the Arab Fertilizers and Chemicals Industries Co. (KEMAPCO) Board of Directs, Jamal Sarayrah, announced that three tenders have been referred to bidding recently, one of which is the Red Sea water desalination project, intended to increase Jordan’s supply of water, noting that portions of the desalinated waters will be allocated to the people in Aqaba.

It is proposed that the project supplies the company’s needs of fresh water for manufacturing, while the rest —estimated to exceed 3.2 million cubic meters annually, is to pumped into the Ministry of Water and Irrigation and Aqaba Water Company grids in the area.
